How does the system work?
Our silent disco system is simple to use and setup. It is very much "Plug and Play" technology! Our transmitters are the beating-heart of our system. Just plug your audio device (phone/laptop/tablet) into our transmitters (don't worry, we provide all the cables) and play your favourite tunes. Our wireless headphones then act as receivers for the signal produced by the transmitter and play your chosen music straight into your ears.
Included in your package will be technical guides with setup instructions. We will also email this to you directly and the details are available on our website too.
What if I need technical support?
We provide technical guides with our setup instructions in the box of equipment we deliver to you. We email them to you prior to delivery and they are also available on our website.
Our system is based on easy to use technology and we are confident you will have no issues.
What brand of equipment do you supply?
The brand we use is Over-Ear which supplies to the world's leading cinemas and cruise-ship companies. These are the best three-channel flashing LED headphones on the market and are used at major events such as Glastonbury, Boardmasters and the Isle of Wight Festival.
What music devices can I connect?
We provide cables so you can use any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack or an RCA/phono connection.
Find your playlist on your device, hit play and turn it up (your device should normally be at 70-100% of full volume for optimum results).
More recent Apple or Android devices no longer have a headphone jack, and will require an adaptor to connect your phone to the transmitter. These adaptors are usually provided in your original phone packaging or are available cheaply online. We provide two of these cables in our package as standard.
Can I play podcasts, Spotify, YouTube on my wireless headphones?
Yes, you can play any audio that you would normally listen to on a speaker or headphones. Connecting your device to the transmitters provided enables an unlimited number of wireless headphones to have the same sound. We recommend downloading any playlists to avoid unreliable WiFi connections interrupting the Live Streaming from your device.
Do you have playlists you recommend?
Yes, we have a great selection of playlists on our Spotify channel and YouTube to get you started.
Can I use your headphones to watch TV/Netflix etc, or play video games?
Yes! Just connect the audio output to the transmitter using the 3.5mm or phono/RCA cables provided. Many TVs, DVD players and Blu-Ray devices have an audio output port. This is the best way to connect, but you can also use the headphone output. Check your specific device to make sure it has suitable output audio connections.
What is the best song for a silent disco?
This is almost an impossible question! There are so many great songs to dance to. That is the beauty of music! Please feel free to use any of our Spotify or YouTube playlists to get you started.
How many silent disco headphones can I connect at once?
You can connect an unlimited number of headphones and receivers at once without any loss in signal, sound degradation or delay.
What is the typical battery life of the headphones?
Our equipment will come fully charged and ready to go. On a full charge, our headphones with built-in lithium-ion rechargeable batteries typically last up to 12 hours.
What is the range of the equipment?
Our transmitter has a range of 150m. Please note that any obstructions such as walls or pillars may affect this range.
What cables are included?
With every transmitter, we provide 3.5mm headphone jack leads, which you can plug into your laptop, iPod or anything with a small headphone socket.
More recent Apple or Android devices no longer have a headphone jack, and will require an adaptor to connect your phone to the transmitter. These adaptors are usually provided in your original phone packaging or are available cheaply online. We provide two of these cables in our package as standard.
I have a DJ, can I connect their equipment?
Yes, we will provide RCA/phono cables which can be connected into the back of most DJ controllers.
What frequencies does your equipment use?
Our standard equipment works on the following frequencies: 863-865Mhz - please avoid using any other equipment on these frequencies to avoid technical issues. The lights on the headphones indicate which channel of audio you're tuned into. The LED colour typical frequencies are as follows:
- Red - 863.1MHz (EU)
- Green - 863.7MHz (EU)
- Blue - 864.9MHz (EU)
What colour headphones can you supply?
We have two colours to choose from. Either pink or black. Presently, we are unable to mix and match in our packages.
I don't want lights on my headphones, can these be turned off?
Please let us know before your order is dispatched and we can turn the lights off for you. When your order arrives, you can change the light settings yourself. As per our tech sheets, there are a few different settings on the lights: full light, full light flashing, half light, no light. The colours on the lights also indicate the channel you're using.
